District Policing Making A Difference

Fond du Lac Police Chief Bill Lamb says district policing has helped reduce the crime rate in the City the past two years. Lamb says the overall crime rate dropped three percent in 2016. He says with police assigned to patrol certain districts there is more follow up when a crime is reported. He says whether it is an issue in a park or a certain neighborhood or apartment complex they have been successful in driving down calls for service and crime rates. He says the work of their drug task force has also had an impact on crime leading to arrests that help alleviate crime committed by those selling and using drugs. He says well over 300 individuals have been arrested for felony drug cases including felony drug trafficking and possession cases over the past few years. The overall crime rate in Fond du Lac last year was at a nine year low.
