DNR Releases Opening Weekend Deer Numbers

The Wisconsin DNR says that 90,281 deer were harvested
during the first weekend of Wisconsin’s
9-day gun deer season.  Fond du Lac County
saw 1071 deer harvested with 497 of them being bucks. The state-wide total harvest
was down 18% from last year’s opening weekend.

8% from last year.   The DNR says that
before opening day 589,830 people purchased gun deer licenses.  The DNR also says that the opening weekend
was a safe one with no hunting related incidents.  That’s the 2nd time in 10 years
that has occurred.
