Dodge Co. Woman Gets Two Years in Prison for Involvement in Gerke Homicide

A 33-year-old woman from Dodge County has been sentenced to
two years in prison for her involvement in the murder of Bradlee Gerke. Rebecca
Wolc was also sentenced to five years of extended supervision Thursday by Dodge
County Circuit Court Judge Steven G. Bauer.

Wolc was convicted in September of last year of Aiding a
Felon for helping 21-year-old Nigel Schultz of Fond du Lac hide from authorities
and cover up the crime after he murdered Gerke at a home in rural Ashippun.

Police learned that Wolc was present at the home when Schultz
shot Gerke 16 times and buried him in a shallow grave. Investigators say Schultz
told Wolc that if anyone asked about Gerke to say that “he went to La Crosse.” Wolc
assisted Schultz in hiding the truth from others, until ultimately being
confronted by police. She then agreed to be a cooperative witness against
Schultz, who pled guilty to First Degree Intentional Homicide last month. Schultz
was ultimately sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Dodge County District Attorney Kurt Klomberg said in a
statement that while Wolc was not responsible for the homicide, “she willfully
made herself an accessory after the fact,” and that she “chose to assist him in
attempting to cover up the murder.”
