Dodge County Budget Could Include Smaller Mill Rate For County Taxes

If the preliminary version of the 2018 Dodge County Budget holds up taxpayers would see a slight decrease in the tax rate. The $111 million budget presented to County supervisors this week includes a $33.8 million tax levy, an increase in the levy of $500,000. That boils down to a proposed mill rate of $5.49 or about a two cent decrease for property taxpayers. The finance committee begins its budget deliberation sessions next week and the will present their final document to the County Board on October 17th. Adoption of the budget is expected on November 14th.
