Dodge County High Speed Chase Suspect Bound Over For Trial

The 21-year-old West Bend man suspected of leading a Dodge County Sheriff’s deputy on a high speed pursuit waived his preliminary hearing Thursday. Calvin Joseph Werner was bound over for trial on charges stemming from the December 8th chase that began on I-41 near Lomira. Werner allegedly reached speeds near 100 miles an hour.  During the chase he hit an idled truck as he exited at Highway 28. The deputy lost visual contact with Werner and called off the pursuit. Later a Washington County Sheriff’s deputy caught Werner. He will be arraigned on January 10th.
