Dodge County Man Charged with 5th OWI after Leading Chase in a Dump Truck

A 34-year-old man from rural Randolph has been charged
with his 5th OWI after leading Dodge County Sheriff’s Deputies on a
chase in a dump truck Wednesday night. Theodore Tamminga was taken into custody
after leaving the scene of a disturbance at a Town of Westford home in the
truck and leading deputies on the chase. A Dodge County deputy first tried to
stop the truck as it was seen driving north on County Highway G, but the
Tamminga continued driving without stopping. During the pursuit, Tamminga
raised the dump box of the truck and dumped a “substantial amount” of dirt and
rocks over both lanes of the highway. Officers were able to navigate the debris
and followed the truck as it went off the road and drove into a field. The
truck became stuck in the mud and the chase ended. In addition to the OWI
charge, Tamminga is charged with Felony Fleeing/Eluding, Operating after
Revocation, Resisting or Obstructing an Officer and Recklessly Endangering
Safety. No officers were hurt during the chase.
