Dodge County: Pedestrian Hit By Train
01-Sep-2013A 61 year old female of rural Lowell was struck and killed by a train Saturday morning in the town of Lowell near the intersection of Blackbird Rd and Chapel Rd. At approximately 10:18am, Juanita Payton was walking southbound with her 2 dogs on the railroad tracks of the Union Pacific Railroad when she was struck by a train that was traveling southbound on the tracks. Mrs Payton was pronounced dead at the scene by the Dodge County Medical Examiners Office. The 2 canines were also killed in the accident. Assisting the Dodge County Sheriff's Department at the scene were the Town of Beaver Dam Police Department, Beaver Dam Fire Department and EMS, Lowell Fire Department and First Responder Unit, Union Pacific Railroad Police and the Dodge County Medical Examiners Office.
