Domestic Call leads to FDL PD SWAT Response

The Fond du Lac Police SWAT team was called to an apartment
complex early Saturday morning for a reported domestic dispute. Police responded
to the Courtyard Apartments on Berger Parkway just before 1:30 AM after a
person said they could hear yelling, screaming and what sounded like someone
being thrown around inside a neighboring apartment. The caller also reported hearing
what sounded like a gun shot. After unsuccessful attempts to contact the people
inside the apartment, the SWAT team was called in. Eventually, a female victim
and a five-year-old child came out of the apartment. The victim confirmed a
domestic assault had taken place and the suspect had left before officers
arrived. The SWAT team cleared the apartment and confirmed the suspect was not
there. No evidence of any gunshots being fired were found. Police are still
looking for the suspect in the incident– identified only as a 22-year-old Fond
du Lac man.

A press release says law enforcement was challenged by
dangerous temperatures and wind chill while responding to the call. The Fond du
Lac County Sheriff’s Office, Wisconsin State Patrol and Fond du Lac Fire and
Rescue all assisted at the scene, along with Fond du Lac Area Transit who
provided a bus to keep officers warm.
