Double Homicide In Green Lake County

Berlin police say they have a person of interest in custody and have released the names of the two people killed in a double homicide in the 200 block of Broadway Street late Saturday night. They are 28-year-old Melissa Tunistra and 28-year-old Justin Daniels both of Berlin.  Police were called to an apartment building about a woman who was lying on the sidewalk. She had suffered gun shot wounds. Officers also found a man with gunshot wounds in an apartment at the same location. The Green Lake County Coroner pronounced both victims dead. An Amber Alert was then issued for an 8-year-old girl who had a connection to the residence. It was cancelled just before 6 a.m. Sunday morning when she was found with 33-year-old Nicholas Tunistra of Berlin the person of interest in the case. They were found at the same residence in Marquette County.  The girl wasn’t injured.

Officers also found a man with gunshot wounds in an apartment at the same location. The Green Lake County Coroner pronounced both victims dead. An Amber Alert was issued for an 8-year-old girl they learned was missing and had a family relationship to the residence. Shortly before 6 a.m. this morning authorities found the girl and a vehicle described in the alert in a neighboring jurisdiction. The girl wasn’t injured. A Berlin man who is a person of interest is being questioned about the double homicide.
