Dreifuerst Artist In Residence At FDL Public Library Idea Studio This Summer

Area residents can see an artist at work at the Fond du Lac Public Library’s Idea Studio this summer. Painter Kathryn Dreifuerst began a two-month residency at the maker space on June 19th. Library Community Information Coordinator Terri Fleming says Dreifuerst would love to talk with people about her art. She will be in the studio Tuesdays from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. and every second and fourth Saturdays from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Fleming says Dreifuerst is a former art teacher in the local school system. This Saturday Dreifuerst will be holding three sessions on creating ceramic tiles. Sessions are at 1, 2, and 3 p.m. Participants will create original tiles that will be fired and installed in a community mosaic that will be displayed in the studio. Another upcoming session on Tuesday, August 8th will include a wheel-throwing demonstration where participants can learn about making clay pottery.
