Drug Drop Off At FDL Senior Center Collects Sixty Pounds Of Pills

Organizers of the prescription drug take back event at the Fond du Lac Senior Center last week are pleased with the results. The Police Department, Senior Center and Drug Free Communities of Fond du Lac County teamed up on the drug drop off collection last Wednesday. Police Officer Erik Foster says people brought in bags of pills. They ended up taking in 60 pounds of pills, which is about what they take in during a typical month from the drug drop box at the police department. There are a dozen drug drop boxes throughout Fond du Lac County. Foster says if you need to find a location for one you can do that at the Drug Free Communities website. Foster has worked cases where older residents were victims of crime because someone knew they were on prescriptions and waited for an opportunity to steal from them.
