Drug Take Back Day Sees Massive Response

Wisconsin Attorney General Brad Schimel says nearly thirty-two tons of unused, unwanted, or expired medications were collected ruing last month’s Drug Take Back Day. He reported Wednesday that 63,541 pounds of medication was collected at 390 sites in April. It was the third-largest Drug Take Back Day collection in the country, behind only Texas and California. It was more than Michigan, Minnesota, and Iowa combined. The collection effort helps prevent drugs from being misused and also protects groundwater. All drugs were taken to Indianapolis for incineration earlier this month.
