Eighteen Teens Cited For Dodge County Fair Fight

The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office has issued 18 citations for disorderly conduct to teens involved in a fight at the County Fair last Friday night. The teens were from Beaver Dam, Horicon, Mayville, Burnett and Juneau and were from 13 to 17 years of age. Eleven girls and 7 boys were cited. According to investigators the fight started with name calling and initially involved five girls. Other girls got involved when a lemonade cup was smashed over a girl’s head.  The boys told investigators they thought someone else would call 9-1-1 and that they didn’t have to.  One of the boys admitted to yelling “fight –fight.”  The incident was videotaped and posted on You Tube, but investigators say if they had called 9-1-1 instead the incident would have ended quicker and with fewer citations.  Sheriff Pat Ninmann (pictured) states “this situation could have led to serious injuries, not only to those involved, but also to innocent young children that were in the area.” She says the teenagers need to understand they have a responsibility to act appropriately and when they do not there are consequences.
