Envision Greater FDL Presents Community Awards

Envision Greater Fond du Lac held its first annual meeting this week. The organization formed last summer with the merging of the Fond du Lac Area Association of Commerce and the Fond du Lac County Economic Development Corporation. Envision CEO and President Cecllia Harry says they presented a number of community awards including one to Steve Leaman of Horicon Bank for Volunteer of the Year. She says, “Well deserved and his whole family was there. It was just awesome and his comments were just very inspiring, a standing ovation, it was really cool.” Business Excellence Awards were presented to Drexel Building Supply and Fat Joe’s Bar and Grill. The Lifetime Achievement Award honored Dr. Darold Treffert of the Treffert Center. Harry notes Dr. Treffert’s comments were inspiring and he talked about families that have moved to Fond du Lac to have access to the services in the center. She says, “To me that just speaks to what we are all about at Envision Greater Fond du Lac. That center of excellence here in our community bringing families from outside the community in.” The Fond du Lac Women’s Fund received a brand new award the Eden-Schneider Award named after the two board presidents who helped guide the merger that became Envision Greater Fond du Lac.
