Fabulous Farm Babe Honored

Pam Jahnke, Farm Report Director for the Wisconsin Farm Report recently came home from the 70th Annual National Association of Farm Broadcasting Convention with the most coveted award in the Farm/Ag broadcasting industry, the Farm Broadcaster of the Year Award. Since 1969, the NAFB has recognized individuals who have proven their abilities in broadcasting show a true commitment to the industry through their actions and their promotional efforts and have shown leadership within their communities. “I have spent my entire life in the agriculture world and every day, I give everything I have to make sure Wisconsin Farmers and Growers get the information they need,” Jahnke said. “To be recognized for all my efforts is humbling and I really share this award with everyone in Ag in Wisconsin!” The “Fabulous Farm Babe”, as she is affectionately known here in Wisconsin, was raised in the Northeastern part of the state on her family’s 200 acre dairy farm.  She attended the University of Wisconsin-River Falls and studied broadcast journalism, graduating in 1986.  Her broadcast career has included stops in Green Bay, Eau Claire and Milwaukee. In addition to her broadcast duties with the Wisconsin Farm Report, Pam also broadcasts on WISC-TV, providing 3 daily updates about Wisconsin agriculture.  Her involvement in the community includes serving on the Dane County Fair Board, American Family Children’s Hospital Orthopedic Board and the Wisconsin 4-H and FFA Foundation.

Pam’s reports can be heard on News-Talk 1450 KFIZ weekday mornings from 5 to 6 a.m.
