Fatal Accident In Green Lake County

Green Lake County Sheriff’s officials have released the names of the victims involved in a fatal accident on Sunnyside Road in the Town of Brooklyn early Thursday morning. Forty-nine-year-old Randy L. Rich of Ripon died and 30-year-old Cody L. McConnell of Green Lake was injured in the rollover accident. Their van went off the road and hit a driveway embankment, struck a utility pole and a second embankment before rolling over. Both men were ejected from the vehicle. Rich died at the scene and McConnell was taken to a hospital and then flown to another. Speed was a factor in the crash, which was reported at 3:05 a.m.

A 49-year-old Ripon man was killed and a 30-year-old Green Lake man injured when a van rolled over about a mile east of Green Lake early this morning. Green Lake County Sheriff’s officials say the van was heading east on Sunnyside Road in the Town of Brooklyn when it went off the road and hit a driveway embankment. The van vaulted over the embankment, struck a utility pole and a second embankment before it started to roll over. Both men were ejected from the vehicle. The Green Lake man was taken to a hospital and was later flown to another hospital. The Ripon man died at the scene. Speed was a factor in the crash, which was reported at 3:05 a.m.
