FDL ALC Considering Non-Renewal Of Scott Street Shell Liquor License

Fond du Lac’s Alcohol Licensing Committee will hold a hearing today on whether to renew the liquor license for the owner’s of the Scott Street Shell gas station, which owes the City more than $30,000. According to City and County documents Scott Street Shell owes $1,150.31 in personal property taxes and $29,099.88 in real estate taxes. City Manager Joe Moore mentioned during last week’s City Council meeting that the Retlaw Hotel wasn’t the only liquor license holder that owed the City money, but wouldn’t identify the second at the time. During a May 29th meeting the committee chose to recommend renewal of the Retlaw’s liquor license on the condition that its owners pay the more than $39,000 owed the City by a June 25th deadline. Erich Hillman of Cedarburg is the registered agent for Bear Commercial Management, which owns the Scott Street Shell. City staff is recommending non-renewal of the license. The committee meets at 4 p.m. at the City-County Government Center.
