FDL Amateur Radio Club Will Host Field Day

The Fond du Lac Amateur Radio Club will host their annual Field Day operations Saturday and Sunday June 24th and 25th at the UW Fond du Lac. Dr. Jack Heil is in charge of the event. Every June, more than 35,000 ham radio operators throughout North America set up temporary transmitting stations in public places to demonstrate ham radio’s science, skill and service to our communities and our nation. Heil says it is about emergency communications. He says it also gives local ham radio operators a chance to get together and share their experiences. Field Day has been an annual event since 1933. The Fond du Lac Amateur Radio Club has about 55 to 60 members.
