FDL And Washington Counties High Speed Pursuit On I 41 Southbound

Five youths were taken into custody following a high speed chase through parts of Fond du Lac and Washington Counties early Thursday morning. An officer in North Fond du Lac tried to stop a vehicle because the wrong license plates were displayed on it. That kicked off a chase by Fond du Lac and North Fond du Lac Police and Sheriff’s deputies. Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Captain Ryan Waldschmidt says they cut off their pursuit on Highway 41 southbound around County Highway B. The vehicle went into Washington County where Sheriff’s deputies picked up the pursuit. Deputies and Slinger Police tried to stop the vehicle with tire deflation devices, but that didn’t work. Later Germantown Police used that method and were successful. The vehicle went into the ditch. Four of the six people in the car fled on foot. Two remained at the scene. Five of the 6, most juveniles from the City of Milwaukee, were taken into custody. The vehicle was stolen from the City of Racine. Speeds reached up to 110 miles an hour during the pursuit in Washington County.
