FDL Area Convention And Visitors Bureau Selling Its Office Building

A for sale sign is going up in front of the Fond du Lac Area Convention and Visitors Bureau office building on South Pioneer Road. CVB President Craig Molitor says they could lease office space and would better serve tourism efforts by using proceeds from the sale of the building to invest in more marketing efforts. He says many organizations and companies don’t want to own a building these days. He says the CVB has looked at how many visitors they have had at their building on the frontage road and it doesn’t justify the use of the building as a tourist draw. Data was used from the last six years and very few tourists actually visit those offices. Molitor says that isn’t to say that the CVB isn’t doing well. He notes Fond du Lac County percentage wise had the biggest increase in direct visitor spending in the state the last two years.
