FDL Area Foundation Celebration Of Giving Dinner Coming Up Soon

The Fond du Lac Area Foundation will be holding its annual “Celebration of Giving” dinner by paying tribute to the vision and integrity of its founders and to the extraordinary philanthropic spirit of the people of the Fond du Lac area.  The annual awards for outstanding philanthropic support of our community will be presented this year to Dr. Willard & Dolores Henken and JoAnn Ward.  “This year’s honorees are responsible for making this community a better place.  I hope that the people of this community who knew them and worked with them will come to this year’s dinner to pay tribute to them,” said Sandi Roehrig, Executive Director of the Fond du Lac Area Foundation.  A gala celebration will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 13th at South Hills Golf and Country Club.  Tickets for the event are $45 per person or $360 for a table of eight.  For reservations, contact the Fond du Lac Area Foundation at (920) 921-2215

Since its inception 41 years ago, the Fond du Lac Area Foundation has helped to enhance the quality of life in the Fond du Lac Area by awarding over $15,000,000 back into the community in the form of charitable grants to our local non-profits.  This dinner allows us to honor some of the great people and organizations that have invested time and money in helping the Fond du Lac Area Foundation in its vision for creating a better community….today and forever.

Community members have established over 315 funds and one supporting organization, the Sophia Foundation, Inc., with a combined market value of more than $33,000,000.  Each of those funds represent a unique charitable interest, including support for scholarships, churches, youth activities, the arts, the needy, the environment, etc.  With the Fond du Lac Area Foundation’s Legacy Society, you can make provisions today that will meet the needs of tomorrow.  You can provide a permanent source of support for your charitable interests while generating tax savings and even personal income through deferred gifts to the Foundation.  You can become a Legacy Society member by naming the Foundation as a beneficiary in your will, estate plan or through a life insurance policy designation.  If you have already done so, please let the Foundation know.  It isn’t necessary to let us know an amount, just that you have done it.

Current Board Members serving as volunteers to the Fond du Lac Area Foundation are Dawn M. Colwin, Stephen M. Cramer, Steven J. Dilling, Robert A. Fale, Thomas J. Gross,  Carol B. Hyland, Therese Massey, Paul W. Rosenfeldt, Aaron A. Sadoff,  Jack E. Twohig, and Karen A. Wuest.
