FDL Arson Suspect Bound Over For Trial

The 27-year-old Fond du Lac man suspected of setting a fire at the Hometown Harbor Apartments has been bound over for trial. Laney Amons was in Fond du Lac County Court Thursday afternoon for a preliminary hearing. He was also arraigned and pled “not guilty” to arson and burglary charges. According to the criminal complaint he had a fight with his ex-girlfriend early the morning of May 2nd. The two had been out drinking with friends and Amons got upset with her when he saw the 27-year-old woman talking with another guy. He allegedly went over to the apartment complex on North Seymour and set her apartment on fire. The fire extensively damaged her apartment and there was smoke and water damage to three other apartments in the 12-unit apartment building. He’s being in the Fond du Lac County Jail on a $50,000 cash bond.
