FDL Baseball Leaves Youth Baseball Complex As Is

Fond du Lac Baseball Inc. released a statement Tuesday about the 4-diamond Youth Baseball Complex on Morningside Drive. Negotiations on a lease with the school district fell through this year. All personal property was supposed to be removed by August 25th, but Fond du Lac Baseball’s Board of Directors chose to leave the fencing, lighting, bleachers, benches, scoreboard, netting and other fixtures in place so future generations could enjoy the complex. Fond du Lac Baseball officials say, “We are honored to have had the privilege to be good stewards of this land for 30-years after turning tillable acreage into a baseball park.” Meanwhile the two little league diamonds on 4th Street were not involved in the transfer of ownership and officials offered to let Youth Baseball use them this summer, but the Fond du Lac School District Recreation District declined the offer. Fond du Lac Baseball officials say the diamonds will be ready for play in the spring and anyone interested in leasing the facility should email them.
