FDL Children’s Museum to Cut Ribbon on a “FarmTastic” Exhibit Today

It’s going to be a “FarmTastic” Friday at the Children’s
Museum of Fond du Lac, as the museum cuts the ribbon on a brand new exhibit
designed to teach both kids and parents alike about agriculture in Wisconsin.
Andrea Welsch, Executive Director of the Children’s Museum tells us there are a
number of different aspects to the new exhibit. “There’s components on dairy
cows, and which ones are most commonly found in Wisconsin, there’s components
on grain and many of the other plantings that are very common in Wisconsin and
there’s an interesting career component – an ag career component – to the
exhibit,” Welsch said. The exhibit was created in partnership with Envision
Greater Fond du Lac’s Agri-Business Council, and includes a life-size Holstein milking
cow and eventually a replica milking machine that’s being created especially
for the exhibit. The ribbon cutting and special events surrounding it will
begin at 4 pm this afternoon at the Children’s Museum on West Scott Street.
