FDL City Council Approves Agreement With County For Cty V Intersection Improvements

The Fond du Lac City Council approved an agreement Wednesday night with Fond du Lac County for improvements to County Highway V and intersections of Pioneer Road, Fond du Lac Avenue and National Avenue. The work would be done in 2019 and 2020 and would include roundabouts at the National Avenue/Rienzi Road/Fond du Lac Avenue and Pioneer Road intersections. A couple City Council members expressed concerns from older residents about the use of roundabouts. Public Works Director Jordan Skiff told Councilman Brian Kolstad that they haven’t gotten too many complaints about the roundabouts on Pioneer Road and the County V interchange at Highway 151. The Council also approved amending a City ordinance that will allow the use of food trucks and ice cream trucks in City parks. Community Development Director Dyann Benson says those trucks will have to maintain a minimum distance from facilities in the park that have vending agreements to serve food. They have to stay 200 feet away from the pavilion and the trailer at the playground. The ice cream trucks would also have to move every 15 minutes.
