FDL City Council Endorses 23 And K Slotted Left Turn Lanes

The Fond du Lac City Council Wednesday night unanimously
supported a proposal to put in slotted left turn lanes at State Highway 23 and
County Highway K. City Manager Joe Moore told the Council the State Department
of Transportation wanted everyone on board for the project. He says the DOT
knows it will change people’s traffic patterns and there will be some
disappointment with that.
The City’s Advisory Parking and Traffic Board last week
gave their endorsement and two County committees had done so before that. Moore
says before the state’s expansion of Highway 23 between Fond du Lac and Plymouth
got stalled by a lawsuit that project and St. Mary’s Springs Academy’s plans for
building one campus on the Ledge were on parallel paths.
The DOT, County and City will be
holding an information meeting on the Highway 23 and County K project at the
UW-Fond du Lac Commons on April 14th. More information on that meeting will be
released in the coming weeks
