FDL City Council Hears Report On Lakeside Park Exploratory Committee Work

13-Nov-2014

The Fond du Lac City Council got an update last night on the work of the Lakeside Park Exploratory Committee. Committee Chairperson Dr. John Short said the committee is using a transparent methodology so residents will be able to see what they are doing. He says they are asking anyone who wants to share their vision what they think the park should look like in the future. Short says they have a public input section on the agenda every time they meet and committee members are being asked to do some outreach to the public as well.  Committee Vice-Chair Ray Lapierre says there are 17 committee members who are taking their task seriously. The committee will give its final report and recommendations to the Council next June.

I think that the existing train available to people should be extended or a longer "line" to around the entire park area. A view from the sky would point out a new train line optional due to existing landscape. In my opinion this new train line would boost attendance to the Park area and kids and Adults who never grow up such as my self who love trains would in return enjoy a longer ride with more scenery. The initial concept of the train was a great idea, but no one ever expanded on the idea since it was founded. I would love to be a part of any future planning. Thank you!

I recently moved across from the park. I now use it 3-4 times a week. One area I never knew that was there is the exercise equipment on the east side. I now use it all the time. My request would be some reference to tell me what each unit is good for and proper use. I have become a huge fan of Lakeside Park
