FDL City Council Proclaims Small Business Month And Saturday

The Downtown Fond du Lac Partnership was honored during this week’s City Council meeting with a proclamation proclaiming November as “Small Business Month” in the City and Saturday, November 28th as “Small Business Saturday.” City Council President Lee Ann Lorrigan presented representatives of the DFP with a copy of the proclamation, but also made her own pitch for shopping locally especially for the holidays. Lorrigan urged City residents to spend less time shopping on the internet and spur economic growth by shopping in the community. She says too often she’s heard people saying they do all their Christmas shopping on the Internet. She says it’s disappointing because we are our own economic stimulus for the community. DFP Board President Tom Deitte thanked the Council for the proclamation. He says the DFP is working hard to make Fond du Lac the best downtown in the State of Wisconsin. A DFP program is urging shoppers to “Shop Small” this holiday season.
