FDL City Council Seat Will Be Filled By Appointment

Anyone interested in filling the remaining term of Fond du Lac City Councilman Jim Sabel (pictured) will have to apply for the seat, be interviewed by the Council and be appointed to the Council. That’s the route the Council chose last night to fill the vacancy created by Sabel’s resignation due to ongoing health concerns. Applications will be taken through Friday, May 10th and the Council will interview candidates for the seat the following week. Council President Sam Meyer believes they will be able to appoint someone before the end of May. Meyer says even with the short time frame for filling the seat there’s already been interest in it. The term for the seat runs until April 15th of next year. Anyone interested in applying for the seat should contact City Clerk Sue Strands at the City-County Government Center or by calling 322-3430.
