FDL City Council Thanks Colwins For Generous Donation
The Joe and Dawn Colwin Foundation and their family were honored by the Fond du Lac City Council last night for their generous donation, which allowed the Police Department to purchase an armored tactical vehicle. Joe Colwin told the Council, “The City has been very good to our family over the past 55 years.” Prior to the Council meeting the new Lenco “Bearcat” was on display outside the City-County Government Center. Police Chief Bill Lamb says it will provide better protection for their SWAT team. He says they also needed a safe vehicle they could respond to random violence or active shooter situations. He says they can’t thank the Colwins enough for the more than $217,000 they donated toward purchase of the vehicle. He says the Colwins have a strong tradition of giving to the community.
