FDL County Board Approves Agreements For UW-FDL Student Housing

The Fond du Lac County Board last night approved the development and lease agreements for an 84-bed student housing facility on the UW-Fond du Lac campus. UW-Fond du Lac Dean John Short told supervisors that the developers would be paying more than $76,000 in taxes on the facility each year. Of that $76,405, the County would receive $18,187 of that tax money. Several amendments were made to the lease agreement. Supervisor Marty Ryan asked for clarification when a motion was made and seconded to postpone the vote until next month’s meeting. Supervisors voted 23 to 2 against postponing the vote and then approved the lease. With the approval of the two resolutions the $4 million project should be completed in time for the fall 2015 semester at the school. Photo of similar housing.
