FDL County Board Notes

The Fond du Lac County Board approved an increase in pay for the County Executive during Tuesday’s meeting. Supervisor Marty Ryan made a motion to amend the resolution and freeze the County Executive’s pay for four years, but it failed by a 17 to 7 vote. The board then approved the original resolution by a 19 to 5 vote. The County Executive will get a half percent increase in pay the first three years and 1 percent increase the final year of the four year term.

Supervisors also approved a resolution allowing the County Agricultural Society or Fair Board an extension to pay off the $35,000 it still owes the County on an interest free loan. Fair Manager Matt Immel told supervisors they made substantial changes at the Fair this year and trimmed their entertainment budget by $80,000. He said although they were able to pay their bills the weather affected revenues and they did have enough to make a payment on their loan. He said they are considering becoming a free event and turning more to corporate citizens to pay for the entertainment they do provide.
