FDL County Deer Harvest Numbers For Opening Weekend

Deer hunters in Fond du Lac County took 250 more deer during the opening weekend of this season than in 2014. According to preliminary numbers from the DNR  hunters in the County registered 700 bucks and 750 antlerless deer for a total of 1,450 for the season. That’s compared to a total of 1,208 deer during last year’s season. It’s a 20 percent improvement in harvest numbers for the County. Statewide 119,495 deer were taken during the hunt compared to 103,428 in 2014 or a 15.5 percent improvement.
