FDL County GOP Chairman Announces Bid For State Senate

Dan Feyen, long time Chairman of both the Republican Party of Fond du Lac County and the Republican Party of the Sixth Congressional District, is announcing his candidacy for Wisconsin’s 18th Senate District on the Republican ticket.

Feyen has been involved in politics at the grassroots level since 2004.  During that time he has worked with many candidates at the local and state level to run successful campaigns.  He became Chairman of the Republican Party of Fond du Lac County in 2007 and the district party in 2010.  Feyen has led the party though some of the busiest and most successful times in Wisconsin’s political history.

Feyen served on the Jaycees Board of Directors for many years and is a Past Jaycee President.  During that time he developed many leadership skills and the ability to work towards making our community a better place to live.

He served nine years on the City of Fond du Lac Parks Advisory Board with many of those years as the Chairman.

After graduating from New Holstein High School, Feyen attended Fox Valley Technical College and graduated with a diploma in Printing.  Since graduating he has been employed by the same printing company in Fond du Lac for over 28 years.  Today he is their Press / Bindery Coordinator.  During the tough times of the last eight years the printing industry has experienced due to the economic down turn, Feyen understands what businesses and their employees are going through.

“Many employers are hiring but tell me they can’t find skilled workers.  There are currently 78,000 jobs listed on job center of Wisconsin website.  That is why as your senator I will bring my conservative values to Madison to work on closing the skills gap throughout Wisconsin by supporting our educational system at all levels,” Feyen said.   “We also have to make sure that Wisconsin’s infrastructure needs are met to support good paying jobs here in Wisconsin.  Many projects in the DOT budget continue to be pushed down the road, and we need to take care of these needs.  To do this we all need to work together and start thinking outside the box.”

Dan Feyen 47, lives in Fond du Lac with his wife Lori and two children, a son who attends UW Madison and a daughter who attends Fond du Lac High School.
