FDL County Happy To Help During 911 Outage

Fond du Lac County dispatchers lent a hand last week when a fiber optic line was cut in Oshkosh interrupting Emergency 911 phone service for Green Lake County and the City of Ripon. Fond du Lac County Communications and Emergency Management Director Bobbi Hicken says they made preparations to call in additional staff if they needed to field extra call from Green Lake County and Ripon. She says they ended up getting just two additional calls. The outage lasted nearly 17 hours. The outage also affected Waushara County, which turned to the Waupaca County Sheriff’s Dispatch Center for help during that time.
