FDL County Health Department Now A Level III Dept

The Fond du Lac County Health Department celebrated a significant accomplishment at this week’s County Board meeting. The board honored the department with a proclamation and presented it to Public Health Officer Kim Mueller for the department reaching the Level III health department designation. The state’s Department of Health Services Northeast Region Director Christopher Culotta also presented Mueller with a certificate. Mueller says a lot of work went into reaching that status. The designation means the health department provides a minimum of fourteen programs that meet at least seven Healthiest Wisconsin 2020 health priorities. Mueller thanked a number of people including County Executive Alan Buechel, Director of Administration Erin Gerred, and her team.  She also recognized former Fond du Lac County Public Health Officer Diane Cappozzo who oversaw the department for over 30 years. Cappozzo was in the audience that evening. In the photo (l to r): County Board Chairman Marty Farrell, Kim Mueller and Christopher Culotta (FDL County photo).
