FDL County Sheriff’s Benevolent Association Gives Back To The Community

The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office Benevolent Association gave out more than $8,000 recently to area non-profits and charitable efforts. Sheriff’s Sergeant Paul Rottscholl says the association is another way they can give back to the communities they live in. He says, “We found this as way we can get out in the public, get our name out there and let everyone know we are there to help the community.” Checks were presented to charities ranging from $250 to $1,100. One of the $250 checks was given to the Hogs for Heroes program, which ended up receiving another $300 from Sheriff’s employees after they found out where it was going, the check was presented last Friday. Rottscholl says, “They buy a Harley Davidson motorcycle and then they find a veteran that served from the state of Wisconsin that was either disabled or went through some difficult times and they buy a Harley Davidson for him. And they use that to get them back on the right track in their life.” The association also funds five scholarships each year.
