FDL County Sheriff’s Office Looking for Driver that Led Deputies on Pursuit

The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office is still looking
for the driver of a car that led deputies on a brief pursuit in the late
evening hours on Tuesday.

A news release says a deputy saw the car being driven north
on Interstate 41 near Lost Arrow Road around 9:45 pm at a high rate of speed. The
deputy was unable to catch up to the car and attempt a traffic stop due to the speed.

A short time later, the car was seen speeding south in the
City of Fond du Lac on Rolling Meadows Drive from County Highway D. The deputy
attempted a stop in that area, at which time the driver sped up and again did
not stop for authorities. The car was seen turning north on Hickory Street, and
the chase was terminated in the area of Hickory Street and Western Avenue after
around three miles. Deputies attempted to use tire deflation devices, but they
were ineffective.

The Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the incident.
