FDL Dock Spiders And Agnesian HealthCare Announce Collaboration

The Fond du Lac Dock Spiders have announced that Agnesian HealthCare will be providing sports medicine coverage. Agnesian HealthCare is also a founding partner.

Sami Woolson, MS, LAT, will serve as the team’s licensed athletic trainer, while Bryan Royce, MD, will serve as the team’s orthopedics physician, and Bryan Henslin, DC, MS, will help with chiropractic needs.


A native of Minnetonka, Minnesota, Woolson earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from The College of Saint Benedict in 2014. She then received her master’s degree in athletic training from The College of St. Scholastica in spring 2016. She currently also serves as an assistant athletic trainer at Ripon College.

Woolson is a board certified athletic trainer and a certified member of the National Athletic Trainer’s Association. She also holds a certification in the Graston Technique.

           During her time at St. Scholastica, Woolson primarily spent her time working with women’s soccer, as well as with men’s and women’s ice hockey, men’s and women’s basketball, and baseball at the University of Wisconsin-Superior. She also spent time working with the football team at the University of Minnesota-Duluth.

Woolson also has experience working with nationally-recognized orthopedic surgeons and Olympians during internships at Lake Region Healthcare and International Gymnastics Camp.

As an athletic trainer with the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders, Woolson will provide athletic training services to the athletes on the team which includes injury prevention, evaluation, rehabilitation and treatment along with being at the field early on game days to help athletes prepare for batting practice and the game.

She will also be in the dugout for every home game to address any injuries or emergency situations where a player needs emergency medical attention.

“I look forward to helping these athletes stay healthy for the season so that they are able to compete to the best of their ability and come into the Northwoods League as a strong competitor for their inaugural season,” Woolson says. “I also look forward to having the opportunity to work with athletes who come from all over the country and providing them with top-notch health care while they are away from their family and college team.”


Dr. Royce specializes in child and adult orthopedic needs, from first diagnosis to final rehabilitation. He is skilled in the latest surgical techniques for the repair, replacement or reconstruction of the hand, knee, shoulder, foot, hip, wrist, ankle and elbow.

In his role, Dr. Royce will treat any athlete injuries that occur during practice or games that can’t be fully addressed by the coaches and athletic trainer. 

“I’m looking forward to working with the athletes from colleges all over the country and the experience of being part of a new team coming to Fond du Lac,” according to Dr. Royce.

Dr. Henslin (pictured above) specializes in sports injury management and rehabilitation, and experienced in working with high school to professional athletes across the state. Taking a unique approach to chiropractic, he utilizes a combination of chiropractic and manual therapy techniques with the goal of helping the athletes back as quick as possible while reducing the risk for re-injury.

In his role, Dr. Henslin will provide the following services to team members: chiropractic care and rehabilitation services, on-site and in-clinic evaluation and management of player injuries, injury prevention through movement screenings and nutritional counseling of athletes.
