FDL Farm Service Agency Office Temporarily Re-Opened During Shutdown

The Fond du Lac office of the Farm Service Agency is one
of 12 offices in the state that have temporarily re-opened to provide limited
services to farmers and ranchers during the ongoing partial government shutdown.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture has recalled about 2,500 FSA employees to
open offices today (Thursday), Friday and on Tuesday during normal business
hours. The offices will be closed Monday for the Martin Luther King Jr.
holiday. FSA staff at these offices will be able to assist producers with
existing farm loans and to ensure the agency provides 1099 tax documents to
borrowers by the IRS’ deadline.
