FDL Fire Dept Budget Needs Reviewed

Fond du Lac Fire Chief Peter O’Leary updated the City Council Wednesday night on some of his department’s needs for the 2018 Budget. O’Leary says he and Police Chief Bill Lamb are interested in moving forward with a joint public safety training facility. He says training is important in keeping their firefighters and paramedics safe. The Council met in closed session following their meeting to discuss a possible land purchase for the facility. O’Leary says they also need to replace the HVAC system in Fire Station #1. Other needs include replacing portable 2-way radios, replacing thermal imaging cameras, and getting another risk reduction specialist. O’Leary says his goal was to come in with a budget for 2018 no higher than what they have for this year and they accomplished that. (FDL Fire/Rescue photo)
