Fond du Lac Fire and Rescue crews were able to pull a woman
out of the Fond du Lac River Thursday afternoon. The fire department received a
call just after 3pm about a person in the water near the 12th Street
Bridge. Rescue crews used cold water rescue suits to enter the river and tied a
rope around the woman to pull her from the water and up the riverbank. She was treated
on scene by paramedics for exposure to the cold;  “The victim was yelling for help and alert neighbors
kept the victim stable while the other one called 9-1-1.” Fire Chief Peter O’Leary
said. “This outcome could have been much different if not for quick thinking
bystanders who knew what to do.” Fond du Lac Police assisted at the scene.
