FDL Firefighters Donate To Replace Hamilton Park Playground Equipment

They were there to put out the playground equipment fire at Hamilton Park, now Fond du Lac Firefighters are stepping forward to help replace the equipment. Local Firefighters 400 donated a $500 check to the City during last night’s Council meeting to get donations going to replace the equipment. Steve Pieper is with the Charity Board for Local 400. He says someone needed to get the restoration effort started and they are glad they can help. He says since 2000 the charitable arm of Local 400 has given back $100,000 to the community in scholarships and donations to local events and organizations including the YMCA, KFIZ’s annual Halloween Party, Cheers for Volunteers and others. Pieper presented the check to City Manager Joe Moore. Moore said he knows others will come forward with donations for the playground equipment and Hamilton Park will be better than it ever was.
