FDL Girl Claims Man Grabbed Her By The Arm

Fond du Lac Police are investigating an incident Monday evening in which an 8-year-old girl claims she was grabbed while riding her scooter. Police say it happened on Marquette Street just north of East Merrill Avenue around 5:20 p.m. A white man in his 30’s grabbed the girl by the arms. She got free by biting him on the back of a hand. Assistant Police Chief Steve Klein says the man then ran off in a northwesterly direction. But investigators later learned the girl may have been at fault. She got bored while playing with other children at a playground and rode her scooter around the block. When she came around a corner she ran over the man’s foot, which is when he grabbed her by an arm. She described him as being about 5-foot-11 inches tall, with a thin build and brown curly hair that was ear length. He was wearing dark blue jeans, a white t-shirt with stains, and dirty while shoes. No car was associated with the incident. Klein says they still want to talk with the man. The police non-emergency number is 906-5555 and their crime alert number is 322-3740.
