FDL HS Wings Students Partner With A To Z Vending

Fond du Lac High School’s WINGS program has been partnering with local business A to Z Vending to learn various details about operating a business. Owner Jim Lindberg donated a vending machine, which is located in the Fond du Lac Community Aquatic Center, and sent two employees to assist in familiarizing students with numerous aspects of the vending machine business. A to Z Vending employee Kyle Chase and Brian Spittel (not pictured here) spent time with students educating them on the mechanical operations of the machine, typical stocking and cleaning procedures, coin mechanism operations, and advertising while WINGS Instructional Assistant Angela Beaman and students (right to left)

Cody Schoenberg, Jesse Schoenberg, Krystin Resop, Josh Bleuel and Katie Resop observe.

This partnership provides an excellent educational opportunity for students to enhance their money management and organizational skills.  These young adults will be responsible for every aspect of running a vending machine, including product selection, comparison shopping, inventory tracking, stocking, and logging expenditures and profits. Funds raised from sales will assist the WINGS program with various community trips, tours and activities.
