FDL Humane Society’s Move into New Shelter Almost Complete

The Fond du Lac Humane Society’s move into their new
shelter building is nearly complete. The Humane Society built a new 12,000
square foot facility next door to its old building on Triangle Road in Fond du
Lac after years of serving the public from the now-“old” shelter building. The new shelter opened its doors to the public last week, and Shelter
Manager Renee Webb says there’s still a little bit of work to be done before everything
is complete. “We have a little bit of moving – I think we’re about 98 percent in
the building right now,” Webb said. “Obviously, there’s a whole lot of outside
stuff that needs to happen with grading, landscaping and finishing off the
parking lots and the old building has to come down yet, but its coming along.”
If you’re interested in taking a look at the new building, Webb says the public
is welcome to stop by the shelter to take a look for yourself. She adds that a
private grand opening is being planned for Humane Society donors in the near
future, with a public grand opening event also in the works.
