FDL Man Arrested For Incident At Elementary School

A 54-year-old Fond du Lac man is facing charges after trying to attack another parent with a knife while the two were picking up their children at Evans Elementary School Wednesday afternoon. Assistant Police Chief Steve Klein says the incident happened at 3:06 p.m. when the two got into an argument about reckless driving. He says the suspect pulled a knife on another Fond du Lac man.The suspect lunged at the other man, but didn’t injure him. Klein says the man would not drop the knife and police officers had to use a taser on him. He was taken into custody after he was stunned. He says the suspect is facing a variety of charges including disorderly conduct while armed, 2nd degree recklessly endangering safety, and possessing a dangerous weapon while on school grounds. The man was recently cited for reckless driving for another incident. The school was placed in lockdown during the incident.
