FDL Man Caught with Stolen Car, Jewelry

A Fond du Lac man faces serious charges after a simple license plate violation led police to find more serious crimes he had committed. A Washington County Sheriff’s deputy pulled the man over around 5:30pm Saturday afternoon along Interstate 41 in the Town of Addison. The driver claims half of his plates were cut off because someone tried to steal a registration sticker – but the deputy noticed a different set of plates in the car, ran them, and discovered the car and plates were stolen. The man was arrested on a number of outstanding warrants, operating without consent, driving under the influence of drugs, and possession of medication without a prescription. Stolen jewelry was also found on the driver at the time of his arrest.
