FDL Man Dies After Being Pinned Underneath Truck

Update: Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s officials have released the name of the 26-year-old rural Fond du Lac man who was killed while working on his pickup truck late Monday morning. Matthew Wiese was underneath the Ford F-350 pickup truck at W7039 Voyager Drive in the Town of Friendship when a mechanical failure occurred and he was pinned underneath it. He was extricated from beneath the vehicle, but died at the scene. The accident was reported at 11:07 Monday morning. 

A 26-year-old Fond du Lac man died late Monday morning after the pickup truck he was working on fell on top of him. Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Lieutenant Bill Tadych says they got a call at 11:07 a.m. and were dispatched to W7039 Voyager Drive. When deputies and the Van Dyne Fire Department and 1st responders arrived they found the man pinned beneath his F-350 Ford pickup truck. He was underneath the truck working on it when the equipment holding it up gave out pinning him beneath the truck. The man died at the scene.
