Wow! Kill somebody because you choose to drive drunk and you lose your summer vacation. What a joke!

90 days? really?
Anonymous commented on 23-Jul-2013 08:18 AM3 out of 5 stars
Wow! That's a crock. 90 days? For killing someone?
Anonymous commented on 23-Jul-2013 08:33 AM3 out of 5 stars
only 90 days for doing a homicide with a motor vehicle while being intoxicated.I thought the driver of the vehicle is supposed to held accountable for for all his actions. Next it will probably just a weekend stay at the county jail. They need to make this law more strict.

Cut the guy some slack, will you? It's his first offense. Geez.
Anonymous commented on 23-Jul-2013 09:08 AM3 out of 5 stars
Are you kidding me? This town is corrupt. Another "good old boys" sentence. Who was this guy related to that made a difference in the sentencing? The children of the teacher now have no father. The Judge should hang his head in shame along with our entire shameful city. What a dirty little place to live. How sad.

He probably rode his bike in front of the car to get hit. He was a pedophile that was facing lots of time in jail.
Anonymous commented on 23-Jul-2013 09:13 AM3 out of 5 stars
Oh I see! So it's just the first time that you take someone's life while driving intoxicated that you deserve the slack.

um yes, I know someone very close to me that got 4 years in PRISON and 4 years probation for a drunk driving charge - yes it involved a minor in the vehicle, and eluding an officer and fleeing and accident but didn't KILL another human being!! WOW!!!!! utter disbelief - I agree with comment above about judge hanging his head in shame!!! unreal!
Anonymous commented on 23-Jul-2013 10:06 AM3 out of 5 stars
Absolutely unreal, this is disgusting. Those two boys have no father now and the man is paying 90 days for that? Taking a father away from his sons is something that can never be repaid, no matter what he was sought to have done himself. Disgusting decision, judge should be ashamed.

This city standards have declined definitely declined within the last 20 years. I've watched it. Fond du Lac was once a safe place to live, raise a family, and grow old, now we let drunk losers off for basically murder, and put up with people that mug ladies in wheelchairs (5th Street, downtown). Don't even get me started on the influx of losers from Milwaukee and Chicago that don't bring anything to enhance our once great city. Fond du Lac needs to set a higher standard, perhaps someone will take a stand, but I doubt it. The school district and the city are just plain pathetic. Might as well throw out a welcome mat for every undesirable out there. - A Fond du Lac native.

"who was allegedly driving drunk"...a BAC was done and he WAS drunk. I was sitting in a courtroom in FDL during the sentencing of a drunk driver who killed a man and this is what a great FDL judge said..."I am not going to put a good man in jail for killing another good man."...Shame on their judicial system once again
Anonymous commented on 23-Jul-2013 10:59 AM3 out of 5 stars
yes it was his first offence however he killed someone! And all he gets is 90 days? What a slap on the wrist! How sad!!
Anonymous commented on 23-Jul-2013 11:07 AM3 out of 5 stars
90 days for killing someone, but I get 2 years for carrying pot.
REALLY !
FUCK THE SYSTEM
Anonymous commented on 23-Jul-2013 11:29 AM3 out of 5 stars
He killed a pedophile...he should be honored as a hero!!
Anonymous commented on 23-Jul-2013 12:20 PM3 out of 5 stars
"honored as a hero"???...you are despicable. Maybe next time this drunk will kill or injure you or a member of your family.
Anonymous commented on 23-Jul-2013 12:42 PM3 out of 5 stars
He got more time than Ottery when she killed more people.

Based on one idiots comment, we should line up all the pedophile priests on I94 or Hwy 41 after bar close time.

Wow I took a gun away from someone and accidentally shot someone and got more then this. So actual premeditated murder will be???? 10 hours community service and an apology letter? I'm not saying the kid doesn't feel bad or regret it everyday and wish he could take it back but the city has let things get a little extreme with major crimes. granted this was an accident it still should carry more of a punishment

I would really like to ask this question: why did this case end up as a plea deal? This short "article" states that Mr. Schneider pleaded "no contest". If the reporter who wrote this story did not expect the kind of reaction demonstrated in the previous comments, they should have. A large part of the story is missing. Why did this case end up as a plea vs a trial? What kind of case did the State have (or didn't have)? Or, are there other extenuating circumstances in this case that have not yet been revealed? I think questions need to be asked of our DA's office to find out the legal reason for this seemingly light sentence. The death of any person should not be taken lightly. Without the details associated with this plea, our community can reasonably jump to the conclusion that the DA has done just that.

You NEVER get a full story on any article on this site. Like the previous poster said, you're left with more questions than answers. Are the stories limited to a certain amount of words, or do the people writing the stories not know the basics: who, what, when, where, and (most importantly to this particular story) HOW? 90 days for taking a life, drunk or not, is totally unbelivable. He should have gotten 90 years! Why was this the sentence this man received??? Does anyone know?
Anonymous commented on 24-Jul-2013 12:17 AM3 out of 5 stars
This wasn't city jurisdiction, it was couny.
Anonymous commented on 24-Jul-2013 12:19 AM3 out of 5 stars
Why aren't the suppliers of the alcohol charged like they are in drug cases?
Anonymous commented on 24-Jul-2013 12:29 AM3 out of 5 stars
The DA can recommend sentences. The judge is not bound to go by them.
Anonymous commented on 24-Jul-2013 07:27 AM3 out of 5 stars
This sentence was not fair at all. I wonder if the judge went for cocktails before, because he certainly was not thinking clearly on this one. So unfair!!!!!!
Anonymous commented on 24-Jul-2013 01:24 PM3 out of 5 stars
The full story is old news. This is just a report on the sentencing. You can find the original info online I'm sure.
mho commented on 25-Jul-2013 04:38 PM3 out of 5 stars
Not everyone is familiar with the "old" news regarding this story. If we were, would that help to understand the 90 day sentence for killing someone??
Anonymous commented on 25-Jul-2013 07:00 PM3 out of 5 stars
Are city was never great you morons. Its always been this way maybe if you were alive when macy was red granite bricks or something than I could understand but 20 years no this town hasn't progressed at all and I doubt I state will either.
Anonymous commented on 25-Jul-2013 07:01 PM3 out of 5 stars
Who does this kid know? 90 days really! Same as having a grow house in Fond du Lac! What a DA!
Anonymous commented on 25-Sep-2013 01:09 PM3 out of 5 stars
its a joke, i know people who have received 90 plus days in jail for an OWI that doesn't involve an accident or life loss. this is crazy.
